Ed came to our school in Middlebury VT today to speak with our students. I have worked at this school for 16 years. I would like to say that this was one of the best assemblies we have ever had. We needed to split our school up into two groups and have them come at different times. After the first assembly we had students that went back to listen to him speak a second time. This is VERY unusual. I also listened to students in the hall saying that they usually skip out of our assebmlies after the first 5 minutes or so and they stayed for the whole talk, saying that they actully found it very good. I heard students telling eachother in the lunch room that they loved eachother. I went to the grocery store after work and I even heard a student telling their mother ” We had the most awsome guy come to talk to us today. He talked about how we should be greatful about what we have and not judge the other kids because we don’t know what kind of life they might have. He even made this kid get on stage and call his mom to say he loved her. It was soooo cool!”
My hope is that Ed continues to speak to our youth, he seemed to get the attention and respect of our students!
Thank you Lisa for your kind comments. I had a great time at MUHS. The students were wonderful and everyone made me feel so welcome.
The students are lucky to have you there keep making a difference.
Best,
Ed
Ed. You are so cool. You inspired me. You came to my school today. You gave me a book. You talked to and motivated my school, and I think it was just what we needed. I called my mom right after your talk, and I told her I love her and it made her day.
So thank YOU Ed. You are incredible. And now I am going to use those three little words. I love YOU, Ed Gerety!
Thank you Ethan for your kind message. I had a great time at CON VAL today. I really hope you enjoy the book and am glad to hear that you called your mom. Live each day with gratitude and make everyday count.
All the best,
Ed
I heard you speak at the TNC and you were awesome. VERY motivational. I know almost ALL the kids listened. Now that is AMAZING. You were the Best speaker there. My friends said how cool you were. And they dont listen to the teachers at our school.
YOU ROCK.
Thanks Dylan – I really appreciate the kind words. Wishing you the very best in all that you do.
Hi Mr. Gerety,
You came to HBMS twice and both times I was in the audience. You touched my heart and really impacted my life. The stories that you told us, touched me so much I almost cried. It really makes me want to make a difference in the world and help people that dont have what i have. The season ending injury story reminded me of when I got a softball to the face and ended my school season. After living and breathing softball for 5 years this was the first big injury that sat me on the bench. It was terrible, I wasnt even aloud to run, or even touch a ball. It was sad because I wasnt able to do the thing that made me happy. It was also kindof embarassing because I was black and blue all over my face. I didnt want to go to school. It was sad but I told my self that it could be worse and that I was lucky. You inpired me and I know everyone else. Thank you so much!! I love you ED GERETY!!
Thanks
Kelsey
Thank you Kelsey- I always have a great time at HBMS. Sorry to hear about the softball injury. As challenging and as painful as it was it appears you are a stronger person because of the experience. Enjoy the rest of the school year and know that it is students like you that keep me doing what I do.

Hi Ed. You came to MPTPA today and your speech was awesome. I lived every story you shared. I am really inspired. I am a seventh grader and have had troubles feeling good about myself lately and you helped me overcome it. All my friends said that you were the best speaker we’ve had this year! You made me laugh and when I got home I told my mom about almost everything you talked about. Thanks for coming!!
Thank you Sarah- I had a great time at your school. It’s awesome that you are already striving for a goal to be in the medical profession.
